A mother and daughter’s love for Dachshunds created Adogable Apparel, a couture dog apparel crafting business. Louise Katz, the mother, hand crochets and knits custom dog sweaters, dresses and vests for large, medium and small breeds. Her dog couture is complemented by dog scarves and sexy dog accessories. Louise’s sweaters have two or all four leg openings with full dog belly coverage for cold weather protection. Her daughter, Andrea Katz, hand sews dog pillows, dog beds and cat pillows called Cat Naps. The pillows interestingly enough are filled with cat nip. Her dog beds feature colorful and unique fabrics topped off with soft and cozy imitation sheepskin or plush felt. Her breed-specific dog beds, targeting large, medium and small breeds, are available in various colors. Dogs can be a mess. Fortunately, most items are machine washable and dryable unless otherwise indicated. They also produce custom needlepoint dog photographs.

Risotto Collection Biscotti Sweater

Smitherman & Barnwell, known in many circles for their children apparel, has a dog friendly Risotto Collection. The collection is full of hand-knit wool dog sweaters, stunning canine brocade coats and adorable to die for neckwear. While always fond of gorgeous NYC dog owners, I have a sweet spot for well dressed NYC dogs. The collection has been featured in New Jersey Life Magazine, Paw Luxuries Magazine and on the cover of WAG magazine. The Snowflake Collection and Aspen Collection are customer favorites. An executives cute little Yorkshire Terrier inspired this fast growing luxury dog apparel collection. Mr. Risotto, as the cute Yorkie Terrier is known, has remained an inspirational source for fine wool dog sweater and necktie development. It is said that Tori Spelling lusted for their Cuccio dog coat at an Emmy Award event. Oh yeah, Modern Dog Magazine and Fido have provided positive remarks as well.

Their goods can be found at Hamptons Dog in the Hamptons @ 917-833-6509 or The Gilded Paw.
